Fairness and Integrity
Are your cards actually random?
100%! We employ Sun Microsystem's SecureRandom function for Java. Thorough
testing and evaluation of the PokerSouls.com poker software by various third
party auditing companies has found that:
- There was no statistical bias in cards dealt as pocket cards.
- There was no statistical bias in cards dealt to any of the board
positions.
- There were no statistical differences in the cards dealt to games
involving experienced players and the cards dealt to games involving new
players.
We have also a database over the expected value for all of the played real
money hands at our site. Or you can view the list of the pocket cards ranked
by value or profit under Expected Value Statistics.
You can also search for the results of each starting cards combination. You
can also view a statistical analysis of 500,000 real money hands dealt in the
Texas Hold'em poker game. You can find this information in the Poker School
section under Card Stats.
If you remain unconvinced, there are links to the raw data (the hand
histories) on the Poker School page, if you would like to conduct your own
tests.

Do your cards favour certain
players?
Absolutely not! Our cards are checked and verified to be completely random,
and since you do not play poker against the house, but other players, there is
no reason why we would favour any player.

Is it possible to predict the
cards?
No! Our server sends out information only on a need-to-know basis, which means
that there is no way to predict any coming cards or the other players' cards.
The cards are not calculated until the very moment before they are sent out,
so there is no way to know them in-advance (because they don't even "exist"
in-advance). All sent information is also heavily encrypted.

Is there a minimum age limit to play at your
site?
You have to be at least fully 18 years-old to play any of our games,
regardless of whether the game involves real-money or play-money.

Poker Etiquette
What are abusive votes? How do they
work?
Abusive Votes are a way of letting players "police" the tables themselves when
they feel there is a need to do so. Players in play-money ring games can vote
off abusive players by casting "abusive votes".
A player who receives 60-70% of abusive votes or more from the rest at the
table will automatically be removed. You can cast a vote by click on the
avatar and selecting "vote off table". Each player is only allowed to cast
three votes within a day in order to prevent this function from being
abused.

What can I do if a player at the table is
abusive?
You can choose to "mute" this player by clicking on his/her avatar and
selecting "mute". You will then filter out whatever the player types in the
table chat and not see them.
If most of the players present feel that the abusive player is causing too
much nuisance, you can also vote him off the table.

In what languages may I chat at the
tables?
English is the only allowed language.

May I play with more than one account? Just for
play-money?
For security reasons, we allow only one PokerSouls.com account per player and
one real-money account per household. You can play for both real-money and
play-money with the same account, hence there is no need to create more that
one.

Can I pass chips to another player by deliberately
losing my chips to him?
No. Passing/receiving chips to and from another player with intent is
considered a serious offence at PokerSouls.com, play-money and real-money
alike.
